Energy complex for a logistics center with 24-hour operation
Project Description
A facility with a critical IT load required a reliable backup power supply without disrupting the existing infrastructure or creating unclear lines of responsibility between contractors. The client wanted to ensure not just the installation of generator equipment, but a predictably operating system that would correctly activate in an emergency, integrate into the facility's existing networks, and be ready for further operation and maintenance.
As part of the project, KBT-Energo provided a comprehensive solution development: from load analysis and backup scenarios to equipment delivery, integration into the existing power supply system, and commissioning. Particular attention was paid to the automatic transfer switch logic, integration with existing distribution devices, switching sequences, and overall system stability during the transition to backup power.
KBT-Energo implemented the project as a single responsibility center. This allowed the client to avoid the typical situation for complex facilities, where generation, electrical components, and automation are under different responsibility. This approach reduced risks during the approval phase, simplified work coordination, and ensured a more controllable final result.
The project resulted in a backup power center integrated into the existing data center infrastructure and prepared for stable operation under critical loads. The client received a solution that took into account the requirements for fault tolerance, switching logic, and subsequent service support.
